Plastic iOS app, Android app, and website
Terms of Service

Using Plastic
Plastic is operated by Plastic app ("Plastic", "we", "us"). By using Plastic, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. Plastic helps vinyl lovers recognize records, explore music information, and organize a personal collection and wishlist.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Plastic, or older if the law where you live requires it. Keep your sign-in method secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity on your account. Contact us if you believe someone else has accessed it.
Plastic Unlimited
Plastic is free to use with limits, for example on monthly scans and on how much of a large collection you can browse. Plastic Unlimited is a paid subscription that removes those limits and adds paid features. You buy it in the app through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), and your purchase is also subject to that store's terms.
- Renewal. Plastic Unlimited is offered as a yearly or a monthly plan. It renews automatically at the price shown in the app until you cancel. The store charges your account when the purchase is confirmed and at the start of each renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep Plastic Unlimited until the end of the period you paid for, then your account returns to the free plan and keeps its records.
- Free trials. If a plan includes a free trial, you are charged the regular price when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Introductory prices and discounts. A lower first-year or first-period price applies only to that first period, then the plan renews at the regular price shown before you buy. The store decides who is eligible, usually new subscribers only. A discount offered for a limited time in the app ends when its timer ends.
- Promo codes and Creator Codes. A code can lower the price of a purchase. Codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or combined unless the app says so, and may expire. A Creator Code also tells us which creator referred you, and that creator may be rewarded for your first purchase. You never pay more because of a Creator Code. We may withdraw a code that is misused.
- Refunds. Apple and Google handle payments and refunds under their own policies. Ask them for a refund through their support pages.
- Price changes. If the price of your plan changes, the store tells you before it applies, as its rules require.
- Restoring. Use Restore on the Plastic Unlimited screen to restore a subscription on a new device or after reinstalling.
A one-time purchase we offered earlier keeps working as described when you bought it.
Fair use
Use Plastic lawfully and for its intended purpose. Do not abuse the service, bypass limits, interfere with other users, upload harmful material, scrape the service, or use Plastic to violate another person’s rights.
Your content
You keep ownership of notes, images, and other content you submit. You give Plastic permission to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. You can remove content through the available app controls or by deleting your account.
Public pages
When you make something public, you let Plastic show it to anyone with the link. What you put on your public page is your responsibility, so share only what you have the right to share. Do not use your page, username, photo, bio, social handles, links, or Collection names and descriptions to:
- pretend to be another person, a brand, a store, or Plastic;
- harass, threaten, or target anyone, or spread hate;
- share sexual, violent, or illegal content, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- spam, advertise, or link to scams or malware.
Some usernames are not available, such as names that impersonate Plastic or others, and offensive words.
Reports and takedowns
Every public page has a Report this page link, or you can write to [email protected]. We review reports, and we may also act on our own. If a page breaks these terms, we take it down: everything on it goes private, its photo and bio are removed, and its username is blocked so nobody can use it again, including the owner.
A takedown does not close the account. Your collection and the rest of Plastic keep working, and you can choose a new username and relaunch a page that follows these terms. To appeal, write to [email protected].
Music data and third-party services
Plastic relies on third-party catalog, artwork, pricing, video, streaming, sign-in, and collection services. Their information can be incomplete, unavailable, or wrong, and their own terms apply when you use them. Plastic is not a valuation, appraisal, or purchasing service.
YouTube
Plastic uses YouTube API Services to find and play videos for tracks. By using Plastic you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Playback runs in YouTube's official embedded player, and Google's use of data collected through it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Availability
Features marked beta may change, fail, or be removed as we learn from testing. Plastic is provided as available, without a promise that every scan, match, price, link, or feature will always be accurate or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, Plastic is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.
Apple and Google
If you use Plastic on an iPhone or iPad, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and Plastic, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for Plastic or its support, but they are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Changes and account access
We may change the service or these terms. For material changes we update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app before they take effect. We may limit or end access when reasonably necessary to protect Plastic, other users, or legal rights. You may stop using Plastic or delete your account at any time.
