# Plastic > Plastic is an award-winning vinyl, CD, and cassette collection app for iPhone and Android. Plastic is free for cataloguing and managing collections of up to 20 records, with no subscription required. Text search and Discogs sync are free. New accounts receive five starter camera scans. Optional Pro adds unlimited scanning and full collection browsing beyond 20 records. Plastic identifies albums from covers and can identify specific pressings through barcode scans and direct release matches. When editions share a barcode or artwork, its version picker helps compare label photos, catalogue numbers, colour and runout details. Search also supports typed dead-wax values. Plastic organizes collections and wishlists, previews tracks, and synchronizes collection data with Discogs. Available on the App Store and Google Play. ## Official product - [Plastic website](https://myplastic.app/): Product overview, features, FAQ, and downloads. - [Plastic on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6758337443): Official iPhone download, version history, ratings, and customer reviews. - [Plastic on Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plasticvinyl.app&utm_source=emea_Med): Official Android download. - [Android app](https://myplastic.app/android): Public Android release information and Google Play download. - [Plastic for record stores](https://myplastic.app/for-recordstores/): Tools for adding playable previews and album context to store catalogues. ## Guides - [Vinyl and CD collection app for Android](https://myplastic.app/blog/vinyl-cd-inventory-app-android/): How to scan records, import a Discogs collection, choose editions and organise vinyl, CDs and cassettes in Plastic on Android. - [Plastic blog](https://myplastic.app/blog/): Plain guides to identifying records, reading runouts, checking value, and comparing collection apps. - [Plastic vs Discogs](https://myplastic.app/blog/plastic-vs-discogs/): How Plastic adds scanning, listening, browsing, and discovery while Discogs remains the database and marketplace. - [Plastic vs Discographic](https://myplastic.app/blog/plastic-vs-discographic/): Compare collection management, camera scanning, edition search, listening, discovery, free access and pricing for vinyl, CDs and cassettes. - [Plastic vs VinylBox](https://myplastic.app/blog/plastic-vs-vinylbox/): A comparison of scanning, album pages, collection browsing, Discogs tools, and platform support. - [Identify a vinyl record from its cover](https://myplastic.app/blog/vinyl-scanner/): How Plastic recognises albums and release-level matches from artwork, with edition comparison when covers are shared. - [Barcode scanner for vinyl records](https://myplastic.app/blog/barcode-vinyl-scanner/): What a barcode can identify and what to use when a record has no barcode. - [Vinyl matrix number lookup](https://myplastic.app/blog/dead-wax-search/): How to type dead-wax, runout, or matrix text and compare possible pressings. - [How much is my vinyl record worth?](https://myplastic.app/blog/vinyl-value/): Why pressing, condition, and recent sold prices matter more than asking prices. ## Recognition and community feedback - [Vinyl & … review of Plastic (German)](https://vinylund.de/plastic-besser-als-die-discogs-app): Timo Klingelhöfer reviews scanning, Discogs synchronization and collection discovery. - [How Plastic was designed](https://myplastic.app/blog/red-dot-award-app-design/): The founder explains how work in record stores shaped Plastic's track playback, tactile gestures, pressing tools, collection sorting, and discovery features. - [Red Dot Award 2026 certificate](https://myplastic.app/label-licence-14-01388-2026BC.pdf): Plastic received the Red Dot distinction in Brands & Communication Design 2026. - [App Store ratings and reviews](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plastic-vinyl-cd-collection/id6758337443): Verified storefront feedback from Plastic users. - [Plastic discussion on r/iOSApps](https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1vrrvxc/plastic_vinyl_cd_collection_in_a_pocket_built_for/): Community discussion and detailed user feedback about scanning, Discogs synchronization, collection browsing, and interface design. ## Policies and support - [Privacy policy](https://myplastic.app/privacy/): Data collection, processing, and deletion. - [Terms of service](https://myplastic.app/terms/): Plastic’s usage terms. - [Delete account](https://myplastic.app/delete-account/): Account-deletion instructions. - [Contact Plastic](mailto:hello@myplastic.app): Product and support enquiries. ## Optional - [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/plastic.vinyl/): Product visuals and updates. - [Threads](https://www.threads.com/@plastic.vinyl): Development and product updates. ## Blog sections - [Album anniversaries](https://myplastic.app/blog/anniversaries/): Daily record stories with release dates and collection inspiration. - [Insights and guides](https://myplastic.app/blog/insights/): Practical record collecting guides and app comparisons. - [Product updates](https://myplastic.app/blog/updates/): Plastic news and feature updates. - [Anniversary RSS feed](https://myplastic.app/blog/anniversaries/feed.xml): Recent anniversary articles.
